Shipping Info

We use Courier Post (now just NZ Post) as our carrier of choice.

I am rural and my rural postie collects all my parcels once a day - typically around 8.30 - 8.45am.

How long does it take for my parcel to arrive?

Non Rural: Typical delivery is "Overnight"

Rural: Typical time frame to "hand over" to your rural postie is overnight, depending upon the posties delivery cycle as they do not always deliver every day, it should be delivered to you on the posties next cycle, please allow a few extra days for rural.

What does OVERNIGHT mean?

  • "Overnight" This means it should be delivered the following "business day" from the day it was collected from Arty Farty, not the day you placed your order.

  • Collection from Arty Farty:  If you purchase with your credit card / debit card or do an internet bank transfer with ASB - your payment is instant and your parcel will be prepared and booked for the courier pick up asap and should be collected on the drivers next "cycle".

  • Courier Cycle: Courier Post will typically collect from Arty Farty once a day.  Our current courier driver comes to do my pickups in the morning around 8.30am.

  • How do I know when it will be collected from Arty Farty?

  • Example 1 - If you pay via Credit/Debit card or deposit through ASB internet banking, Your parcel will be prepared asap (and yes this is quite often at night if your order comes through in the evening as the Postie comes so early to collect, I do not want to miss the next pick up.  Your parcel should arrive to you the next business day.  i.e. Order placed and payment recieved on Monday after 8.30am right through until 9pm.  Picked up Tuesday morning and should be with you on Wednesday

  • Example 2 - If you pay via internet banking (non ASB), Your Parcel is still prepared asap and I check to see if your payment has cleared, this quite often happens around 11 am which means we miss the couriers pick up at 8.30am and it should go out on the next mornings cycle, i.e. Order placed on Monday after 8.30am right through until 9pm (keep in mind payment payments that go out of your account afterhours can be delayed even longer), payment clears on Tuesday around 11am, parcel picked up Wednesday morning and should be with you on Thursday.

  • Keep in mind internet banking can slow the process down depending upon how fast the payment clears, some banks do not clear until the following business day which means we miss the afternoon cycle and it needs to wait for the following days morning cycle.

How do I know if I am rural?

Typically if you live on the outskirts or sometimes a small remote town there is a good chance you are rural - the whole township of National Park for example is rural.

If you are unsure please enter your address on NZ Posts website as Courier Post/NZ post share the same delivery database

https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/address-postcode-finder

A rural address will state "this address does not receive Postal Mail" or  The address will update to include the RD route number i.e   RD1 Whangarei or RD2 Startford etc.

Either of these options indicated you are RURAL.

Shipping Pricing Options:

We have several shipping options so please check carefully when you are checking out

  • Non Rural - If you do not live at a rural address, select this option.  Pricing starts from $7.20

  • Rural - If you have checked the NZ Posts website and it says "this address does not receive NZ post Mail" or it updates your address to include and rural delivery address. i.e   222 State Highway 15, RD1, Somewhere in NZ.  YOU ARE RURAL.  Pricing starts from $12.50 (Rural surcharge is included for rural deliveries)

  • Customer to Collect - If you live local or the product is marked as "Customer Must Pickup" then this is the option you can select if you wish to collect your order.

If you ARE RURAL and you select the wrong option, when I make a shipping label I get notified that the address is a rural delivery, I will email you with a request to select a non rural address or let you know what the rural surcharge is for your parcel.  This will delay your parcel being picked up.

Do you want an ECO FRIENDLY option?

Depending upon the products ordered, we will packaging your parcel in as much "Eco Friendly" material as possible.  We will use WrapPak and paper based products to package your parcel

Examples of parcel types,

  • If a cardboard box is needed as its a large order, it will still have plastic tape to close the box.  Sorry I do not have access to paper tape options yet as they require a special machine to heat the tape up.

  • Some items cannot ship with eco packaging (products like artist pencils) as they need the better protection of bubble wrap.  These are the items which are simply too fragile to ship in WrapPak.

What is WrapPak?

A paper "Voil Fill" product - think of a product that is 100% paper and replaces bubble wrap - it creates voids to give the product a cushion of air without any plastic

When placing your order and you would like us to use as much eco-friendly packaging as possible. Just put Eco-friendly in thyeorder comments section and we will do our best.
